Q: What is the EMDG process?

Rimon Advisory will guide you through every step of the audit and handle as much as possible, saving you time. Receive benefit. Once approved, you should receive your cash benefit within 1-2 weeks.

What does an EMDG consultant do?

When applying for an EMDG, an EMDG consultant can assist your business in accessing the grant by assessing your eligibility, enhancing your compliance, ensuring you claim all eligible expenses you are entitled to, save your business time, and provide clarity and support throughout an audit process. Or at least, that’s what your EMDG consultant should be doing!

Through initial conversations, an in-depth workshop, a robust analysis of your financial statements and the implementation of well designed internal procedures, your EMDG consultant will be able to achieve the above.

Why should I solicit an EMDG consultant when I can apply myself?

Akin to many tasks in life, although we might be able to perform something ourselves, it usually is in our best interests to bring in a specialist. What are the eligibility requirements?

There are a few factors to consider:

Must be an Australian business.
Must be spending at least $40,000 on overseas targeted marketing.
The product, service, or IP which the business is marketing must have significant Australian input.
Less than $20 Million in income

What body regulates EMDG and are there audits?

EMDG is governed by AusTrade.

Each application is subject to an audit, however audit levels can vary from email correspondence, phone calls, or face-to-face meetings.

How much funding will I receive?

The benefit is 50% of your eligible Export Market expenditure.

The benefit will be limited to your funding agreement entered into with AusTrade.

When do I have to apply by?

Each submission is retrospective, meaning your application is for the prior financial year.

EMDG round 5 is not currently open.

We will communicate submission dates once the become available.
